BUENOS AIRES, Feb 3 (NA) -- President Javier Milei led the presentation of the new electronic ID card and the update of the Argentine passport, documents that incorporate state-of-the-art technology to enhance security standards, which the head of state himself debuted during the event.
According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni; and the Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli.
With this update, the travel document reaches the maximum global standard, aligning with the systems used by the most advanced countries.
This device stores the holder's data in an encrypted way and allows identity validation without the need to access external databases, making counterfeiting "practically impossible".
In turn, the renewed Argentine passport also adds polycarbonate pages and laser engraving on the data sheet, in addition to new visible and non-visible security elements.
